This modern family home in Brazil’s vibrant São Paulo, is as bright and cheerful as the  – the Brazilian flag. Let’s take a peek inside.

Leading up from the front entrance alongside the driveway you can already feel there will be some strong long lines and shapes throughout the property. In this area, the open feeling of the grid divider keeps the area feeling spacious.

Inside is a great combo of colors and textures in different spaces. There is a gorgeous balance of light and happy colors. As the garden goes all the way around the outside of the house, the new redesign makes good use of the space outdoors to allow for a greater living area.

One of the most striking things about this place is the way the living room extends through to other parts of the property. What a great way to make the place feel more accessible and provide more space for comfortable lounging.

This indoor-to-outdoor lounging is most evident with the shallow area in the swimming pool, where they have patterned sun loungers to immerse yourself in the pool. Pretty great way to keep cool in the water, but don’t forget the sunscreen!

The house was designed by Pascali Semerdjian Architects, who focused on the series of see-through walls and surfaces throughout the building.

Loving the long clean lines of the room. The sofa and vinyl shelving unit are both feature striking colors.

The partitions also work like shutters to choose where you allow light in, and to section off other parts of the house.

Great balance of integration and segregation. For example this dining area is part of a larger and seemingly open-plan floor space. But it has its own nook carved out for itself, by using the walls and also accentuated by the wooden ceiling that comes down from above.

The house is owned by a father, who wanted a cool and fun place for his four children to hang out when they are over. You can get a sense of that playfulness upstairs in this lounge area.

We also love the big wide open circular window. Notice the big circle shapes and long rectangles on the inside, too. There is a lot of play with geometric shapes through the house.

Marble has been trending in design and fashion over the last few years, and its elegance is undisputed in this bathroom. Here, the translucent material that creates the divisions in the room allow light through, so although the room is segmented into use, it maintains an overall feel of size and light.

The sink in this bathroom is really interesting. Also, while we saw the outdoor space being used like a living room, this bathroom makes use of the plants to feel like it’s outdoors! It really sums up the feel of the house. The spaces in the home extend their boundaries yet allow themselves to be neatly contained – a building full of color and contrast.
